People often ask me why I created AXIOTROP. As the saying goes, good things come in threes – as do my reasons for starting this company:
There was a need
Cyber-attacks continue to increase, and companies of all sizes are being targeted. Many companies don’t have the resources to improve their cybersecurity maturity posture and some of these need to improve their systems to be compliant with NIST SP 800 171. There aren’t enough companies and professionals in the cybersecurity space to support this demand.
We had the experience
The last company I managed had an information security consulting practice based on the NIST SP 800 series. In the almost decade we had the practice we supported SMBs by helping them remediate their information security programs to the NIST standards.
We had a strong team of information security professionals with experience throughout the cybersecurity ecosystem including assessment, policy development and documentation, remediation planning, and validation. We worked well together and wanted to pick up where we left off.
It spoke to a higher purpose
Finally, my Christian faith calls me to make a difference in this fight of good versus evil. Actors with malicious intent are attacking our country, our economy, and our way of life. We all play a part in defeating them – and mine is through cybersecurity protection.
Galvanized by the team’s enthusiasm to get back together, I formed AXIOTROP to make cybersecurity accessible, attainable, and sustainable for small and medium-sized businesses. Day in and day out, it’s a privilege to help our clients improve their cybersecurity maturity posture.
