Cyber Hijacking of a Yogurt Shipment - What Next???

Hackers are becoming more creative by the day as they breach companies seeking financial gains or for other malicious reasons.

The Wall Street Journal recently reported on thieves that intercepted a container of yogurt and demanded a $40,000 ransom - part of a surge in fraud in the freight haulers industry. The freight hauler had subcontracted a delivery job using an online platform that matches shipments to carriers.  Unfortunately, the fraudsters stole the hauler’s identity to hijack the shipment.

Industry-wide, cargo theft incidents approached 3,000 and $560 million of losses in 2023.  Companies in this sector are taking notice and action according to the article.
